Equestrian activities at Border War include:
- Skill at Arms
- Horse Archery
- Ride Before the Prince (Classical dressage)
- Buzkashi
- Court Pageantry
- Equestrian Tourney

NOTE: Horses are brought by their owners to be trained, to enjoy Equestrian games, and to be involved in Martial activities as decided by the Marshal-in-Charge and Equestrian Marshal-in-Charge at the event. They are attending the event too, they are not working to entertain others. Pony rides are NOT offered.
BYO equipment, buckets, feed etc. Water point and power available in the Equestrian campsite.
For costs see the Pricing Page. Horses are FREE if you stay onsite with them. If you require someone to keep an eye on them while you are off site it costs $10 per horse, per day.
WAR BANDS
The War Band competition encompasses all aspects of Border War for War Bands/Households consisting of up to 10 members. The group entry with the highest overall score will be the winner and take home the War Chest to which all participants are requested to contribute. To earn WAR POINTS there will be:
- War Scenarios: Field, Town, Running, Bridge, etc
- Fighter Tournament
- Archery Tournament
- Rapier Tournament
- Equestrian Activities
- Arts & Sciences Competitions
- The Gywnfor Llwyd Memorial ‘Mouth From the South’ Bardic Competition
- Best Presented War Band (to be judged during the Declaration of War straight after Armour Inspection on Saturday morning)
Points will be awarded: individually for entering a scenario and to the War Bands (group points) on the winning side of each battle.
There is a points system for the tournaments and competitions:
1 point per entrant in each activity or war scenario (1 point per A&S category)
with bonus points for first (3 pts), second (2 pts) & third (1 pts).Please bring something to add to the War Chest.
